Fashion is a Passion

A story in Hindi text book of my schooling which exactly reflects the meaning of this post in a simple story form.
Let me briefly narrate that story before writing my serendipitous thought.
Story:
A person got an invitation to attend the party of a rich person. The invitee was a well educated and a wise person. He is working as a government servant in a good position.  Though he is in a good position, since he is a forthright person. So he was not able make much money.
The well educated got ready for the party in his simple manner. The party is on a cool weekend. All the guests attending were rich persons. They all are arriving in their luxurious cars and in specially designed party wear.
He comes to party wearing a simple half hands shirt and a normal formal pant without in-shirting. The security person objects him to enter the party as he is not looking like person who could enter the rich party. He shows the invitation card also but the security person doesn't believe his words, so leaves from there.
After a while a man comes in with a top branded suite, imported shoes and goggles. With a pipe cigar in hand and costly bracelet to his arm. Seeing him the security person salutes and takes him up to the dining place and offers a plate and suggests the good items of that day.
The Host got confused on seeing the recently arrived gentleman's behavior. He is putting all the items in packets and wet items pouring on his dress.
The host asks that gentleman, Sir what is this? What are you doing? This is a rich party and you are doing like this.... how shame it is?
That gentleman humbly replies:
An half hour back i came to the party in my usual manner in simple shirt and pant. Your security person prevented me. Later i came in this lavish party ware.I have got complete respect. So My dress got invited not me. So i am feeding it.

What happened afterwards is not the point of matter here. A point of note here is "A person is being judged from ages by his apparel."

From ages,  in vedas/puranas, in the history of any country and of any religion this thing we can see. Any King in the Past will be wearing a Gold Crown with Diamonds, pearls etc in it. His outfits will be of a glittering well designed cloths. Shoes of pure leather and wearing jewelry of rarest metals.
In Puranas The gods also wear costumes showing royalty. In Egypt history the kings dresses of very attractive and very stylish and royal.
Everyone want a rich look and wants others  to feel that he/she is rich. So everyone always in search of new styles. Everyone judges the other on the same. If anybody is looking simple he/she will not be respected as he should be. In now a days fashion culture, Everyone always wears a branded Jeans , trendy T's, Woodlands etc costly shoes. Fit outfits, branded sun glasses, costly Deo's and jewelry is always given a prime importance in their range.

If we start listing men's fashions on a paper, we can lay a road from Sun to Pluto and if we start listing that of women's entire milky way can be connected with 8 lane highways.

"It will be great if people start thinking to make themselves rich in their own view and up to their inner conscience satisfaction instead trying to become rich in others thoughts/view. "

Its one of my serendipitous thoughts. I got it seeing the recent changes in culture, life styles of people.
